Eye Exam
An eye exam at Eye Care Optometry begins with a complete health history. This is important because diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure can alter vision tests as well as damage the eye. Some medications can also cause ocular side effects.
Next our doctors and technicians will evaluate the health and visual status of your eyes, using the most modern and sophisticated instruments and techniques available. After your examination, the doctor will thoroughly explain his findings, prescribe glasses if needed and make any other necessary recommendations.

Styles
Our eye wear specialists attend national and international optical trade shows to bring you the latest in styles and materials. We purchase frames and lenses directly from the manufacturer in large quantities. This enables us to receive the best price possible and to pass the savings on to you.
"On the Spot" Repairs
Generally speaking, most minor repairs are done while you wait. Eye Care Optometry is proud to be one of the few facilities with on-site soldering. Broken frames can be replaced immediately because of our large inventory.
Lenses
We also carry the highest quality spectacle lenses manufactured by world-renowned companies, such as Zeiss, Rhodenstock and Esselor, to name a few.
Use of modern technology allows us to provide the thinnest, lightest and most cosmetically pleasing lenses available. Nearly all lenses are available in a variety of tints and coatings. Ask about how the new anti-reflective coating can give your lenses a thinner, more attractive appearance.
If you spend a lot of time outdoors, you might enjoy our prescription sunglasses, clip-on sunglasses or Transition lenses. Transition lenses provide a great deal of convenience by automatically changing from a nearly clear lens while you are indoors to a much darker sunglass lens when you are outside.
Contact Lenses
Eye Care Optometry offers a full spectrum of contact lenses. We always keep abreast of the latest technologies and fit virtually all type of contact lenses – soft, rigid gas-permeable, hybrid, bifocal and astigmatic. If you have never worn contact lenses before, our no-risk trial policy will enable you to find out if contact lenses are right for you. Today we are able to fit more people with contact lenses than ever before. Even those requiring a bifocal correction and those who have severe astigmatism are able to wear them successfully. Our doctors understand the importance of proper fitting, comprehensive monitoring and thorough supervision of lens care. A large in-office inventory often provides our patients with the convenience of same-day service.

Eye Disease
Our doctors also treat dry eye syndrome and keratoconus.
Dry eye syndrome occurs when the normal flow of tears over the eyes is interrupted or the tear film is abnormal. Symptoms include dry, sandy, gritty or foreign body sensation. Dry eye can also cause the eye to burn. Dry eye syndrome is generally a chronic, life-long problem that is more common in women than in men. Frequent use of artificial tears is the first line treatment of dry eye syndrome. For more severe dry eyes, prescription eye drops and/or the placement of punctal or lacrimal plugs in the tear drainage system may be necessary. Call our office (Dr. Montana) for a more specific solution tailored to your exact situation.
Keratoconus is a disorder that occurs when the cornea, which is typically rounded, becomes cone-shaped. The progression is usually slow and can stop at any stage from mild to severe. A patient with keratoconus will experience an increase in astigmatism and eventual blurring and distortion of vision even with the best spectacle prescription. The distortion and blurring increase as the cornea bulges and thins. The apex of the cornea often scars, reducing the vision further. Management of keratoconus is most effective with special contact lenses made specifically for keratoconus. ClearKone (made by Synergeyes) and KeraSoft IC (made by Bausch & Lomb) are some examples of softer, more comfortable contact lens designs. If these lenses, or a variety of special gas permeable contact lenses, do not provide sufficient vision, surgical intervention may be necessary. Call our office (Dr. Montana) for a more specific solution tailored to your exact situation.
